SANBORNTON - A Franklin woman was arrested for drunken driving in a Friday night crash that left a Pittsfield motorist dead.
State Troopers got involved around 10:30 p.m. after getting several calls on a two-vehicle crash on I-93 southbound at mile marker 63 in the town of Sanbornton, according to a police statement released today.
When troopers arrived on scene they found an Audi Q5 about 20 feet down an embankment to the right and a Volkswagen Jetta some 100 feet south and off into the median. The driver of the Audi Q5 was identified as: Kristina Perry, 38, of Franklin.
The operator of the Volkswagen Jetta was identified as Gabriel Anthony, 24, of PIttsfield, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The operator of the Audi Q5 was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Initial information at the scene indicated that Anthony's vehicle was disabled in the right-hand breakdown lane, and he was outside of his vehicle when he and his vehicle were struck by the Audi.
During the course of this crash investigation, Perry was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. She is being held without bail pending an appearance in Belknap Superior Court on Monday.
Due to the crash one lane of the interstate was shut down for about six hours.
