FRANCESTOWN - A 21-year-old Franestown man died on Tuesday in a fiery single-vehicle accident on Route 136.
The crash occurred around 4:15 a.m. and was reported by a passerby who was unable to assist in rendering aid as the vehicle caught fire following its impact with a tree, according to a Dept. of Safety press release.
The preliminary investigation determined that a 2023 Subaru Crosstrek, driven by Nolan Trottier, 21, of Francestown, veered off the side of the road and ran into a tree. Trottier, the only occupant in the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Route 136 was closed in the area of the crash for about two hours while emergency personnel conducted the investigation.
