CONCORD - A former Dover man was indicted in connection with illegally possessing four firearms, the U.S. Attorneys Office announced on Thursday.
Christopher T. Brown, 37, is accused of one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was arrested in Fort Belvoir, Va., on Saturday and was ordered detained by a U.S. Magistrate Judge in Alexandria, Va. Brown will be transported federal court in Concord at a later date.
According to the charging documents, Brown is a convicted felon and was legally prohibited from possessing firearms. However, on Jan. 9, in Dover Brown possessed four firearms, including two 9 mm pistols, a .40 caliber rifle, and a 12-gauge sawed-off shotgun with no serial number.
The details contained in the charging documents are allegations. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
