CONCORD - A former Rochester man pleaded guilty today to robbing a Somersworth bank in 2016.
Marc Beaulieu, 31, with a last known address of 10C Charles St, pleaded guilty to the bank job at Service Credit Union that occurred on Nov. 18.
According to documents filed with the court and statements made during the change of plea hearing, Beaulieu entered the Service Credit Union in Somersworth at approximately 1:15 p.m. on Nov 18, approached a teller and handed the teller a note that stated "Give me all your money and no one will get hurt."
The teller gave Beaulieu a sum of money that included a packet of bait bills. Surveillance film captured Beaulieu fleeing the bank and entering a Subaru.
After law enforcement released an image of the bank robber to the media, numerous individuals contacted the police and identified the robber as Beaulieu. Police also obtained video from a convenience store near the credit union that captured Beaulieu in the Subaru and putting on the camouflage jacket.
Beaulieu was arrested in Portsmouth on Nov 21, 2016, and the camouflage jacket, the bright red sneakers, and other evidence connecting him to the robbery were recovered.
A sentencing hearing is scheduled for Aug 2.
The Somersworth Police Department led the investigation of the case with the assistance of the Portsmouth Police Department, the United States Marshals Service, and the Strafford County Department of Corrections. The Federal Bureau of Investigation also provided assistance. The case has been prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney, Donald A. Feith.
