ROCHESTER - Five people were injured in a two-car collision at the intersection of Milton Road and Highland Street on Thursday.

The crash occurred around 1:30 p.m. when police say Joyce Boucher, 54, of Somersworth, N.H., was operating a 2010 Subaru Forester and traveling northbound on Milton Road as Jeffrey Davidson, 43, of Peabody, Mass., was operating a 2002 Dodge Caravan, travelling southbound.

According to police, the collision occurred when Davidson's vehicle turned left onto Highland Street, crossing in front of Boucher's vehicle. The front of Boucher's vehicle struck the passenger side of Davidson's vehicle, causing significant damage to both vehicles.

Boucher and a passenger in Davidson's vehicle, Barbara Davidson, of Peabody, were both transported to Wentworth Douglas Hospital for nonlife-threatening injuries.

Three juveniles in Davidson's vehicle were treated on scene for minor injuries.

Rochester Fire had to cut a door from the Dodge so that Barbara Davidson could get out.

All parties were wearing their seat belts, and airbags were deployed in both vehicles.

Jeffrey Davidson was issued a summons for failure to yield, a violation level offense.
