ROCHESTER - Rochester Police say they have arrested four men and a woman on felony riot charges in a violent Lafayette Street attack that took place in the early morning hours of July 25 leaving two men injured.

The incident unfolded as police officers responded to Lafayette Street around 12:45 a.m. for a reported fight in progress.

"Upon arrival, an officer was approached by a male bleeding from the head from a cut over his left eye," Rochester Capt. Todd Pinkham said today.

According to police, the male stated that a group of 8-10 people had gathered in front of his friend's house and stopped to ask them about possibly wanting to play dice. When they declined, the friend was struck in the face by one individual before being struck in the head with a bottle by another, Pinkham said.

Police say the male then attempted to help his friend off the ground, when he was also struck in the head.

Just prior to the police arriving all parties in the group of 8-10 persons fled the area, with one individual in the group yelling that he was going to come back later with a gun, according to police.

Arrested in the case are: Chance Ennis, 21, of 13 Wildflower Circle, Apt. 6, Somersworth, who is charged with simple assault and riot; Elijah Stewart, 19, 153 Indigo Hill Road, Somersworth, charged with simple assault and riot; Andrew Dwight Lucas, 21, of 287 Rochester Hill Road, Rochester, charged with simple assault, second-degree assault and riot; Kiley McNulty, 22, of Rochester, charged with riot; and Matthew Bober, 19, of Rochester, charged with for riot and criminal threatening.

All five suspects were released on PR bail and given court dates to be determined.
