MILTON MILLS - Happy Valentine's Day! This month, all month we are featuring "Blind Date with a Book" where you never have to judge a book by its cover! This is a fun way to read something new that you may have overlooked or missed. A specially curated and wrapped surprise, each book is labelled with a brief description and recommended reading level. We have everything from children's books to adults. Live a little and take one of these novels home for a cozy winter read.
Our family craft and movie day this month is Saturday, February 22 - mark your calendars! Bring a picture of your pet, a fantasy pet or select a favorite pet from one of our library books, then trace or draw over the image on clear plexiglass with colorful markers for a unique, one of a kind artwork to keep or gift. The drop-in family craft is from 10:30-12:30pm, all ages welcome and supplies provided. Bring your creativity!
After the craft, we will have a showing of the Disney movie, '"Aristocats" at 1pm on our 150" screen with free popcorn. Aristocats is rated G, and has a run time of 78 minutes, so it will finish up around 2:30pm. Please bring a comfy chair or cushion and drinks with lids for the movie. We hope you can join us!
The Town wide Winter Carnival will be happening Feb. 14 and Feb. 15 and Milton Free Public Library will be open during our normal hours both days.
Saturday, February 15 the Milton Historical Society is hosting a Pancake Breakfast at the Milton Fire Department (865 White Mountain Highway) from 8-10am. Nute Library will be there with a short Storywalk "Ten Ways to Hear Snow" by Cathy Camper and a friendly penguin sticker craft for littles and a mini-plexiglass drawing craft for the more adventurous artists. There will also be face painting at the breakfast and Model T snowmobile rides at the Town Beach beginning at 9am. Hope everyone can get out and enjoy some Town activities between snow storms this month! Nothing beats curling up with a hot drink and a good book. Stay safe out there.
