Ebullient and effervescent, "Seussical the Musical" soars higher than Gertrude McFuzz could ever fly or Yertle the Turtle could get climbing atop his minions.
"Seussical the Muscial" is now playing at Spaulding High School with the infectious sparkle of junior Emily Buinicky leading the way on this wondrous tale, which loosely follow the plotlines of ."Horton Hears a Who" with snippets of other Seuss favorites.
The musical is a Seuss smorgasbord, with many of your favorite Seuss characters featured including the Grinch and others.
Through it all, Buinicky leads the audience on a fanciful adventure that ends with the teeny tiny lovable Whos being rescued from the vagaries of life.
The play is a fun, fast-paced, fluid affair, with talent aplenty and voices that will astound theatergoers.
Spaulding High Band and Chorus Director Nikki Luciano-Bourgeois directs and choreographs the play.
She added that anyone in the audience who has seen the musical before will notice the Spaulding High production has added some twists.
"Theatergoers should look for a slightly different version of Seussical," she said. "There is a lot happening on stage many moments of the show. Even as the director, I find new things I see every single time I watch the show. The kids are great at engaging audience members and telling this fantastic story."
The production will run through March 26, with 7 p.m. shows on March 24 and March 25 and 1 p.m. matinees on March 26.
Tickets cost $5 for students and seniors and $7 for adults.
