FARMINGTON - The Planning Board will hold a Public Hearing on Jan. 22, at 6:30 p.m. in the Municipal Offices Building, 356 Main Street to present and discuss the following proposed amendments to the Farmington Zoning Ordinance to be presented to the voters on March 11, 2025.
Proposed Amendments: 1. To amend Sections 1.03 & 2.09, Zoning Maps and Boundary Description of Districts, to make several revisions to the existing zoning map, including extending the Suburban Residential District down Spring Street to Route 11; merging the commercial and industrial districts into one; and the inclusion of two proposed mixed-use districts.
2. To create Section 2.0_ Mixed-Use District East, to establish a new mixed-use district at the intersection of Route 11 and Route 153 that will allow a mix of commercial and residential uses within the same building or on the same site.
3. To create Section 2.0_ Mixed-Use District West, to establish a new mixed-use district at the intersection of Route 11 and Tappan Street that will allow a mix of commercial and residential uses within the same building or on the same site.
4. To create Section 3.2_ Solar Ordinance, to establish a solar collection system ordinance.
