Farmer's markets to make September move back to Common

ROCHESTER - The Rochester Farmer's Market is planning to relocate to the ballfields at the Rochester Common for the month of September. The market had been operating out of the parking lot at the Rochester Community Center for the beginning of the 2020 season.

"We needed to move the market because the School Department will be using the parking lot once the school year begins," said market manager Vicky Poland. "We started at the Common originally, and we're looking forward to serving our patrons there again for the month of September."

Parking is available on both sides of the Common and market hours will remain the same. The September market dates are scheduled every Tuesday, Sept. 1-29 from 3-6 p.m.

"The market will continue to operate with the same COVID-19 safety guidelines in place. We will rope everything off with one entry and exit." Explains Poland. "Hand sanitizer and masks will be available at the volunteer tent. Based on the Governor's order issued recently, masks will be mandatory in the market."

The Farmer's Market will also be hosting the Vouchers for Veterans program for the month of September. Vouchers can be obtained from the Vouchers for Veterans booth that will be setup near the band stand.

The Farmer's Market is still accepting EBT and providing the "Market Match" vouchers which doubles SNAP dollars for fruit and vegetable purchases.
