ROCHESTER - Eugene R Bowker Jr. died peacefully on March 19, 2022, with his children by his side.

Gene was born in Bath, Maine, on October 6, 1947 to Eleanor (Fullerton) Bowker and Eugene R Bowker Sr. Gene attended Traip Academy in Kittery, Maine, and then got his bachelor's in education at UMaine Machias. Gene had a passion for teaching and taught fifth and sixth grade in the Berwick, Maine, School department for 45 years. He was remembered by students for his countless collections, his sense of humor, his creative consequences, and his flair for the dramatic.

Gene is survived by his son; Jamey Bowker and wife Cristian of West Newfield, Maine, daughter Lauren Bowker Gulla and husband Adam of Northwood, 6 grandchildren; and siblings, John Bowker and Diane Bowker.
