WINCHESTER - The elderly Winchester man police say was shot by his wife's grandson died of a single gunshot wound to the head, according to a medical examiner's report filed Thursday.
The autopsy on Timothy Hill, 72, was conducted by Deputy Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Mitchell Weinberg, who also determined that the manner of death was homicide.
Keegan Duhaime, 26, of Winchester, was arrested Wednesday and charged with one count of second-degree murder for knowingly causing the death of Hill by shooting him, and one count of second-degree murder for recklessly causing his death under circumstances manifesting an extreme indifference to the value of human life.
Both charges allege that the fatal shooting occurred last Saturday at their home at 484 Scofield Mountain Road in Winchester.
Duhaime waived his arraignment in the Cheshire County Superior Court on Thursday and was ordered held without bail.
Winchester, a town 4,150 in Cheshire County, is located in the southwest portion of New Hampshire not far from both the Massachusetts and Vermont borders.
