BEDFORD - An elderly Massachusetts couple escaped serious injury on Sunday when their vehicle failed to negotiate an EZ pass lane at the Bedford tolls and rolled over.
The crash occurred around 3 p.m. on the F.E. Everett Turnpike where troopers found that A 2023 Subaru Forester struck the concrete barrier and rolled over.
The driver, Elizabeth Johnson, 84, and her passenger, Frederick Merk, 87, both of Groton, sustained minor injuries and were transported to the Elliot Hospital in Manchester for treatment.
Lane 3 of the Southbound toll plaza was shut down for about an hour while crews cleared the scene.
