LEBANON – An 80-year-old Lebanon man is in critical condition at Maine Medical Center in Portland today following a three-car collision on Route 202 on Tuesday morning.
The accident occurred around 7:20 a.m. about a quarter mile west from the Lebanon Industrial Park when the man’s 2001 Lincoln Town Car collided head-on with an eastbound Subaru driven by a 16-year-old Lebanon male, according to Maine State Police Trooper Kyle Wells.
Wells said today it appeared the Subaru drifted over the center line and into the westbound lane when the collision occurred.
A Buick driven by a teenage female from Rochester then struck the Subaru.
Both teenagers were transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester where they were treated for minor injuries and released.
Route 202 was shut down for about an hour and a half as a result of the accident.
Rochester Firefighters had to use the Jaws of Life for an extraction from one of the vehicles.
Wells said the accident remains under investigation. He said all drivers were the sole occupants of their vehicles and all were wearing seat belts. He added that neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected in the crash.
