ROCHESTER - An elderly Rochester woman was injured on Thursday when her car collided with another on North Main Street.
The crash occurred around 4:20 p.m. near Willey and Jenness streets.
Police say when they arrived they found a white 2010 Acura TL four door sedan facing south, but in the northbound lane, with heavy front end damage. Off the road in a yard at the corner of North Main and Jenness was a beige 2008 Nissan Sentra with heavy side damage.
The initial investigation revealed that Betty Dube, 81, of Rochester, who was driving the Nissan Sentra, was turning from Willey Street onto North Main Street when she struck the Acura, driven by Kayleigh Boggs, 29, of Virginia Beach, Va,, who was driving south on North Main St.
As Dube's vehicle started to turn left, heading onto North Main Street it crossed in front of Boggs' vehicle, police said. The front of Boggs' vehicle struck the side of Dube's vehicle, causing significant damage to both vehicles, which were both towed.
Dube was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital for what were described as nonlife-threatening injuries.
Traffic on North Main St was rerouted down various side streets while the vehicles were being removed from the roadway.
