ROCHESTER - Elaine Hasty, 87, crossed the threshold to heaven on Monday, Oct. 7, 2024, at the Rochester Manor in Rochester after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family.

Elaine was born in Rochester on Jan. 3, 1937, the beloved daughter of Wesley and Vivian (Preston) French. Elaine grew up in Rochester and spent many years as a loyal military wife. Elaine was a patriotic person with a huge heart and was almost impossible to keep up with always busy helping someone. Her favorite things to do was spending time with her family no matter what they were doing. Elaine would participate whether it was ice fishing, camping or a simple cookout. A few of her other activities were line dancing, bowling, volunteering at her church, and gardening.

Surviving members of her grieving family include: Her son, David Hasty and his wife Carol, her daughter, Pamela Vachon, and her husband Kevin, her son Michael Hasty. She had six grandchildren, Davey Hasty, Jennifer Henley, Katie Lapak, Kerrie Ridley and Lukas Hasty; and eight-great-grandchildren.

Elaine was predeceased by her husband, Melvin Hasty, a daughter Deborah Hasty, grandson Daniel Hasty, her two sisters Carolyn Laporte and Louise Treadwell, and her parents.
