ROCHESTER - An East Rochester man is awaiting arraignment today on a host of charges filed by Rochester Police on Tuesday after he was reported by a caller to police dispatch to be lying on the side of the road of Washington Street and possibly impaired or on drugs.
When police first responded to the scene around 6:40 p.m. the man was gone, but after talking to witnesses they began a search.
Soon after, an officer spotted the male walking down Maple Street in the middle of the road. When questioned he provided a false name and was taken into protective custody following a field sobriety test.
After his true identity was learned, the man, Joshua Z. Wright. 38, of 42 Collins Circle, was found to have two active warrants against him on theft from a building charges in addition to a bench warrant from Strafford County Superior Court on a forgery count.
New charges connected to Tuesday's arrest included two drug charges possession (one for suspected fentanyl and one for marijunana, a violation) and a false report to law enforcement.
