Early morning traffic stop results in brass knuckles arrest

ROCHESTER - An early morning traffic stop in the downtown on Wednesday led to the arrest of a Gonic man on several weapons and motor vehicle charges.

Police pulled over Remy Martin Lopez, 35, of 479 Gonic Road, in the area of Hanson Street around 2:20 a.m., after officers recognized him as the driver and knew his license was under suspension, Rochester Police Capt. Todd Pinkham said on Thursday.

"When the officers took Lopez into custody he was found to be in possession of metallic knuckles," Pinkham said.

Lopez, a convicted felon, was charged with charged with driving after revocation/suspension, operating with an expired license, felon in possession of dangerous weapon and carrying/selling weapons.

Lopez was taken to Strafford County Jail where he was held on bail pending arraignment.
