Rochester Opera House will present "A Christmas Carol" beginning Thursday, Dec. 17 through Sunday, Dec. 20.

Filled with joy, laughter, and heartbreaking moments, this exciting new musical adaptation has something for everyone, both young and old.

Christmas just isn't Christmas without the beloved tale of Ebenezer Scrooge (Scottie McLaughlin) and the awakening of his long-forgotten festive spirit, brought to life in this exciting musical. Keeping true to the original text, it draws upon the themes of time, family, and society's ills to warm even the coldest of hearts.

With the atmosphere of Victorian Christmas traditions, this vibrant and joyous musical goes on a journey where the true meaning of Christmas is found. With a cavalcade of colorful Dickensian characters such as Bob Cratchit (Daniel Hollander) and Tiny Tim (Hannah Chesley), a ghostly quartet of guardians, including Steve Bornstein as Marley and the lovely Peg Johnson as the Ghost of Christmas Present, and a company of over 40 actors, "A Christmas Carol" is the perfect way to get you into the Christmas spirit.

Directed by Sharon Arsenault with music direction by William Asher and choreography by Emily K., "A Christmas Carol" is an amateur production by arrangement with International Theatre and Music Limited, www.itmshows.com. Book & Lyrics by Chris Blackwood. Music by Piers Chater Robinson. Based on the novel by Charles Dickens.
