Crews will begin preconstruction work and installation of temporary concrete barriers on the northbound and southbound barrels of the Spaulding Turnpike between exits 8 and 9. This work is being performed in preparation for the upcoming bridge replacement work at the Cocheco River Bridges.

Lane closures with uniformed police officers will be utilized to control traffic during these operations. Northbound lane closures will be in place between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.; southbound lane closures will be in place between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Motorists should exercise caution when driving through the construction zone.

The work is part of the Dover 41824 project. Evroks Corporation of Northfield is the prime contractor for the $14 million project, which is scheduled to be completed in June, 2027.
