MILTON - David B. Topliffe, age 64, of Park Place, Milton, died unexpectedly in his sleep May 3, 2013, in Orangeburg, S.C. on his way home from Cape Coral, Fla. The autopsy revealed that he had a massive heart attack. David had been in perfect health.
Born October 1, 1948, in Rochester, the son of John N. and Ruth A. (Merrill) Topliffe, he was raised in Rochester, graduated from Spaulding High School, Class of 1967, and graduated from UNH with a business degree in 1971. He resided in Milton for many years, loved spending time in downtown Portsmouth and had spent his winters in Florida.
David worked as a financial adviser for his own business: Topliffe Professional Planning in Milton. He was a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors and International Association of Registered Financial Consultants. He held both insurance and securities licenses and took passion in serving his hundreds of clients.
His hobbies included: golfing, hiking, boating, fishing, playing pool, riding his Harley Davidson, watching Patriots football, spending time with his daughter and hanging out with family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter: Whitney J. Topliffe of Portsmouth, three brothers: John N. Topliffe of Columbia, Ill., Mark Topliffe of Milton, and Jeff Topliffe of New Durham; two sisters: Cheryl Gagnon of New Durham, Debbie Poulin of Nottingham; several nieces and nephews, his partner, Kathleen Titus and his daughter's mother Amy A. Ryan. He was a great father, brother, friend and adviser. He will always be remembered for being friendly, cheerful, having a smile on his face and always taking care of his loved ones. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
