CONCORD - DHHS announced 1,011 new positive test results for COVID-19 on Wednesday, including 278 minors and 110 from Strafford County.
DHHS also announced five additional deaths related to COVID-19, all over 60.
There are currently 367 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19. In New Hampshire, up more than 30 percent from just two weeks ago.
The surge prompted area hospital to urge only those with acute medical issues to come to their emergency rooms and to expect longer wait times for treatment. The surge also led Gov. Chris Sununu to change patient capacity rules to allow hospitals more flexibility in admitting additional patients, which include a mix of COVID patients, many who have held off seeking treatment on non-COVID issues during the pandemic and other seasonal health issues, hospitals say.
