County announces virus case at Riverside; 230 news cases identified statewide

DOVER - County commissioners on Friday announced that a Riverside Rest Home employee had tested positive for COVID-19.

"There are no signs or symptoms of the disease with any of our residents or any other employee, however, out of an abundance of caution, we are testing all residents and employees," according the county statement.

Commissioners said they are doing everything they can to protect nursing home residents, detainees/inmates at the House of Corrections, and employees, including following all federal and state recommended infection precautions, employee screening prior to entering the work place and the use of masks, face shields, and other preventative gear (PPE).

Meanwhile, state DHHS announced 230 new positive test results for COVID-19, for a daily PCR test positivity rate of 1.4 percent.

The new cases include 26 minors and 30 from Strafford County.

One new hospitalized case was reported for a current total of 49.

DHHS has also announced one additional death related to COVID-19, a Belknap County man over 60.
