Council invites members of public to apply for Ward 1 Seat B slot

ROCHESTER - City Council on Tuesday voted to unanimously accept the resignation of former board member Doug Lachance, paving the way for selection of someone to fill his Ward I Seat B slot at their first meeting in June.

In the meantime, any registered voter in Ward 1 interested in representing Ward 1 on the Council is encouraged to submit a Statement of Interest to the City Clerk's Office as soon as possible.

Statement of Interest forms are available in the City Clerk's Office in City Hall, 31 Wakefield St. Forms are also available for download on the city's website. For more information call (603) 332-2130.

All qualified candidates may attend the City Council Workshop on May 18 to participate in an open interview directly with the City Council.

Lachance resigned last month amid an investigation into alleged sexual assault on a minor from a 2007 case. He has not been arrested.
