Conn. woman nabbed for OUI after driving wrong way on I-95.

WELLS, Maine - A Connecticut woman was arrested for OUI on Saturday after she was stopped by police for driving the wrong way on Interstate 95 in Wells.

Police got reports for a wrong-way driver traveling southbound in the northbound lanes near mile marker 16 in Wells around 1:15 a.m. State police along with York and Kittery Police immediately responded to the area where York Police were able to locate the vehicle, a Chevrolet Equinox, traveling sWouthbound in the northbound lanes near mile marker 10.

York Police and State Troopers were able to successfully stop the vehicle near mile marker six in York. Prior to police locating the vehicle, a passing motorist crashed near mile marker 11 northbound while attempting to avoid the wrong way driver.

The victim of that crash did not sustain any injuries.

The wrong way driver, identified as 58-year-old Timothy Willis of Glastonbury, Conn., was arrested and charged with Operating Under the Influence. The incident remains under investigation.
