PORTLAND, Maine - Finally some good news out of Portland.
The condition of a Farmington, N.H., man injured last Sunday has finally been upgraded from critical to serious, a Maine Med spokesperson said today, a development that is thought to bode well as he continues to recover from a horrific crash on Route 202 in Alfred.
Carl Peaslee, 54, and his passenger, Deborah Turner, 52, also of Farmington, were both thrown from his Harley Davidson around 7 p.m. on Route 202 in Alfred near the intersection of Gore Road.
Police say the collision occurred when an eastbound 2011 Subaru Forester was turning into Shaker Pond Ice Cream and collided with Peaslee's 1999 Harley Davidson, which was headed westbound.
Turner's condition was still unavailable from the hospital today due to multiple Deborah Turners currently admitted, but Maine Dept. of Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss did confirm that Turner is "doing better." Turner was initially listed in serious condition soon after the crash.
The operator of the Subaru, 26-year-old Deleah Brown of North Waterboro, was not injured in the crash.
