ROCHESTER - Like Dan Akroyd said over and over in the 1980 movie "The Blues Brothers," Students for Life Action are on a "Mission from God" this weekend in the Greater Rochester area.
Some 20 New England college students were canvassing door-to-door in Rochester on Saturday and reaching out to residents in an effort to move the pro-life movement forward.
Jessica Power, New England regional coordinator for Students for Life Action, said part of their mission was to stump for Sam Farrington of Rochester, a candidate for Strafford District 8, who is pro life.

His opponent is Democrat Chuck Grassie, who wants to legalize abortion "through the birth process," Power said.
"All lives matter from an unborn fetus till natural death," she added. "We value human life and advocate for the unborn because the unborn can't speak for themselves."
The Rochester Voice spoke with the volunteers while they were eating a lunch of pizza and sodas on a windy Common Saturday afternoon.
Several of the volunteers said they had some success during their morning door-knocking session.
"One woman we spoke to didn't know abortions were taxpayer funded," said volunteer Chris Greeley. "After we told her she seemed to have a new perspective."
There's no question that these young people are passionate about their activism.
"When a woman is pregnant, there are two bodies involved, not one," said Power. "That baby has its own DNA, it's a person; it's a life."
The group will be door knocking in the towns and cities surrounding Rochester today.
