DOVER - Claire Daigle died peacefully at the age of 99 on Oct. 10, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on Nov. 19, 1924, she was the daughter of Mary (Dubois) Grenier and Arthur Grenier.
She resided in Rochester for most of her life, working at Rondeau Shoe Shop and GE in Somersworth for over 30 years, and as a waitress at York Beach. Upon retirement, she moved to Arizona to live with her husband Joe Daigle.
For the past five years, Claire lived in Fort Pierce, Fla. with her grandson, Jeffery Goodberry. She is survived by her daughter Elaine, husband Jim Goodberry, stepdaughter Nancy Walker, stepsons Brian Daigle and his wife Barbara, Bruce Daigle and his wife Tracy, sister Cecile Germon, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
She was a hard worker who loved people and enjoyed hosting parties and gatherings at home. Over the years her hobbies included sewing, knitting, and crafting, She was fortunate to have traveled to Hawaii and Alaska to visit her brother Richard.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband Joe Daigle, and four brothers: Norman, Robert, Rene, and Richard Grenier.
Claire's family wishes to thank the staff at Watson Field, Dover and Hospice for the beautiful care and love shown to Claire over the past three months.
