ROCHESTER - In honor of National Animal Care and Control Appreciation Week, the Rochester Police Department took time out on Monday to thank the city's own Animal Control Officer, Sue Paradis, for all her hard work and dedication over the years.
National Animal Control Officer Appreciation Week is celebrated every year on the second full week of April. This year, it takes place from April 14-20, 2024. It's a week when communities are encouraged to learn about what the job of animal control really entails and to be grateful for those who do them.
The week of appreciation is designed to give recognition to the hard-working men and women of Animal Care and Control who risk their lives and devote huge amounts of personal time and resources, while they serve the public like other public safety and law enforcement agencies empowered with the same duties.
According to a post on the RPD Facebook Page, "This is the week that these hard working and dedicated Animal Care and Control employees should be honored by having those they work with and the whole community say. Thank You for helping when no one else could, or would even know how to. Thank you Sue for all your hard work and dedication to the City of Rochester and the Rochester Police Department! Keep up the good work!"
