DOVER - The city woman police say hit a female victim in the head with a tire iron over a Facebook post squabble in March has been indicted.
Jenna M. St. Pierre, 31, of 14 Harvard St., faces felony second degree assault and criminal threatening with a deadly weapon charges in connection with the March 14 incident.
Police say the confrontation unfolded after St. Pierre and the 30-year-old female victim, who resides on River Street, began arguing over a Facebook post. Soon after her arrest, Rochester Police Capt. Jason Thomas said the argument began by them first posting on Facebook before the back and forth moved to Facebook Messenger for another couple of hours.
Then around 3:15 a.m. St. Pierre arrived at the victim's residence and found her outside clearing snow off her car. The two ended up fighting, said Thomas, who noted St. Pierre had arrived with a tire iron in her hand and a folding knife in her pocket.
Police were called as the melee began, but upon arrival St. Pierre had already left on foot. She was found moments later nearby.
The second degree assault charge is for St. Pierre allegedly striking her with the tire iron, while the criminal threatening with a deadly weapon is for allegedly trying to open the pocket knife while they were fighting.
St. Pierre faces up to 14 years in prison if convicted on both counts. She is currently free on personal recognizance bond.
An indictment is not an indication of guilt, only that enough evidence has been presented to warrant a trial.
