City urges motorists to follow parking bans after scores towed during recent storms

ROCHESTER - With a pair of major storms threatening over the next few days and numerous vehicles being towed by the city in the past couple of weeks, Rochester officials are reminding residents and visitors to avoid having their vehicle towed by following all winter parking regulations. According to the Rochester Police Department, numerous vehicles have been towed recently due to violations, including 53 during the first storm of the season, 21 on Friday and another 26 on Sunday. "City officials are concerned about vehicles being improperly parked in small municipal lots," according to a statement put out by the city on Wednesday. "Reports indicate that some landlords have provided incorrect information to tenants and guests, leading to illegal parking during winter bans. Residents are urged to verify parking regulations before leaving their vehicles overnight." The city offers the following information regarding winter parking rules:
