City to host class on how to get involved in local government

ROCHESTER - Rochester's Office for Public Information and Community Engagement will present a course on how to get involved in city government.

The interactive presentation and discussion provides tools for understanding how local government works and how individual actions can drive change, according to a release from the city.

The course outlines several topics, including 'How Rochester's Municipal Government Works', 'How to Find Information', 'How to Vote (and why it's so important)', 'How to Make Your Voice Heard', and 'How to Get More Involved'.

The course, called Civics 101, is held at various times of the year in order to accommodate as many working schedules as possible. There is no cost for participation. Registration is encouraged, however, all are welcome to attend. Click here to register online.

Sign-ups are available now for the following dates/times:

  • Tuesday, March 11, 2025 (9:00 am - 10:30 am)
  • Tuesday, July 8, 2025 (6:00 pm - 7:30 pm)
  • Saturday, November 8, 2025 (9:00 am - 10:30 am)
