ROCHESTER - The New Hampshire Department of Business and Economic Affairs recognized the City of Rochester with a 'Housing Champion' designation earlier this month, highlighting its efforts to advance regional housing solutions.
BEA is comprised of the Division of Economic Development, the Division of Planning & Community Development, and the Division of Travel and Tourism Development.

"We are honored to accept this recognition from the BEA," said Michael Scala, director of Economic Development. "This designation will provide the city access to several programs to help us fund and develop more affordable housing throughout Rochester."

As a Housing Champion, Rochester can apply for additional grants from the BEA. These include the Housing Production Municipal Grant Fund ($1.5 million) and the Housing Infrastructure Municipal Grant ($3.5 million), which open in January. The grants will support affordable housing projects and infrastructure upgrades.
