DOVER, N.H. - A Rochester man was sentenced to a year in county jail Monday for having sex with a minor in December 2012.
Jacob Jones, 23, could've drawn a 3½ to 7 year stretch in state prison for felonious sexual assault, but Strafford County Superior Court Judge Brian Tucker sentenced Jones to a year in Strafford County Jail with 224 days credit for pretrial confinement.
Jones' to 2 to 5 years in state prison was suspended pending five years of good behavior after his release.
Jones will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
Jones also pleaded guilty to possession of less than a gram of Fentanyl.
