ROCHESTER - The public is invited to The Homemakers Health Services' celebration on Saturday that will recognize its more than 30 years of community support and services to older adults.
The event is titled "Once Upon a Time" and begins at 6 p.m. at The Homemakers Health Services' campus at 215 Rochester Hill Road. Admission is free.
"We're pleased to welcome the community to our campus on Saturday," said The Homemakers Board Chair Dr. Susan Reed. "The theme of our event will recognize the history of the organization and the wonderful gift of property and land from the late Virginia Spaulding Champlin."
Daughter of former New Hampshire Gov. Rolland Hardy Spaulding, Virginia and her husband William supported a broad range of charitable causes throughout the Seacoast and across the state.
In 1998, she donated her house and land on Rochester Hill Road Hill to the Homemakers.
"Virginia's generous gift of her home and land had a major positive impact upon our organization" said Dr. Reed. "It helped us to increase the scope of our services and take care of more of those in need."
Held in and around the historic Champlin House, the event will include live and silent auctions, raffles and door prizes, musicians, wine and food pairings and much more. Each of the rooms in the Champlin house will have a different theme and reflect the history of the organization and highlight its work in the community.
"The support from our local community has been fabulous and as a result, attendees to our event will enjoy delicious combinations of food and beverages," noted Dr. Reed.
Event supporters include: Broadmoor Farms, Courtney Harris Edwards,
