Politics: This is his first run for office

Michael Troy Bernier of Felker Drive says he has a whole list of goals if he is elected selectman today, but some of the things he’d like to do first include turning back on the streetlights the town shut off about two years ago and start maintaining Class V and possibly Class VI roads that the town stopped maintaining. He said the lights were turned off about two years ago.

He said three to five years ago the town suddenly stopped maintaining some roads that they had done previously as a custom.

Bernier said the tax rate during incumbent Tom Gray’s tenure has risen from $19 to $25 dollars in five years, and that property owners can’t afford the increases.

He also said he’d like to get the bridge between Lebanon and Milton built as soon as possible.

He also said he’d balance the books and run the town like a business.
