To the editor:
As we gathered together to celebrate Independence Day, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the values that make our nation so unique and special. On this day, 247 years ago, our founding fathers declared our independence, establishing a nation that was founded on the principles of liberty, justice, and the pursuit of happiness.
This Independence Day feels particularly poignant. Over the past year, we've faced numerous challenges and upheavals, but despite the difficulties, we've shown an unyielding spirit and a commitment to our shared American values. This is the true essence of the American spirit. We endure, we innovate, and we overcome.
As an American I'm proud of what our country stands for and even prouder of how we come together in times of crisis. The ideals set forth by our founding fathers continue to guide us as we navigate through new challenges and aspire towards a brighter future.
This Independence Day, let's not just celebrate our independence but also the virtues that make us American. Let's continue to support one another, uphold our shared values, and remember that it is in unity that our strength lies.
Lastly, I encourage you to take a moment to express your gratitude for the brave men and women who have served our nation, both past and present. Their sacrifices ensure that we can enjoy the freedoms and liberties that we celebrate today.
Wishing you and your family a safe and joyful Independence Day!
