Candidates sought for vacant Ward 2 City Council seat

ROCHESTER - Following last week's resignation of Councilor Rachel Lawrence from her Ward 2/Seat B position on City Council effective July 2, the city is looking for candidates to replace her on the City Council

Any registered voter of Ward 2 interested in serving on the City Council is encouraged to submit a Statement of Interest form by 9 a.m. on Tuesday. The form is available online and in the City Clerk's Office.

Qualified candidates will be invited to interview during an upcoming City Council meeting. Candidates will have the opportunity to address Rochester residents and members of the Council. Following the interviews, the City Council will vote to appoint a new member, effective immediately.
