DOVER - Brenda Joyce (Forsyth) Abrahamson, 80, died on Oct. 17, 2022.

Brenda was born in Haverhill, the eldest daughter of Chester and Marjorie (Perkins) Forsyth. Raised in Bradford, she belonged to The First Presbyterian Church in Haverhill and became a dental assistant after graduating high school. She soon met the love of her life, Eldon "Andy" Abrahamson, and they were married in 1962. Together they raised their three children in Haverhill. She was a homemaker for many years, involved in activities at church and her children's schools. She taught Sunday School, led the ladies' guild, sang in the choir and served as a Deacon. She resumed her career as a dental assistant in 1981, where she worked until her retirement.

In addition to the love and caring of her family, Brenda had a passion for her beloved Shetland Sheepdogs. For over 30 years she operated Brandymist Shelties and became an accomplished breeder. She was a founding member and past president of the Granite State Shetland Sheepdog Club of South East New Hampshire, was an American Kennel Club show secretary, and served on various other committees. She was also a member of the American Shetland Sheepdog Association.

In their retirement, Brenda and Andy enjoyed traveling, taking cruises and spending time with family and friends. Brenda enjoyed gardening, was an accomplished baker, seamstress and knitter, and was an avid reader. Most of all, Brenda was known for her calm and caring demeanor and friendship, and was always a joy to be around.

Brenda was a devoted wife and mother, and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andy, of 60 years. She is survived by her three children, Suzanne and her husband Eric Shimomura, Alison and her husband Sean DuPilka, and David Abrahamson and his wife Denise Roy; six grandchildren, William, Madison, Julia, Andrew, Aaren and Braden; seven great-grandchildren, Allison, Rowan, Avery, Oakley, Foster, Cecilia and Andrew; and her two sisters, Beverly Patterson, and Laurie and husband James Mooers. She will be greatly missed.
