Body of man found in Somersworth; police don't believe foul play involved

SOMERSWORTH - The body of an elderly man was found on Monday in a wooded area of Granite State Park.

Somersworth Police responded to the area around 12:25 p.m. after receiving a report the body had been discovered.

An autopsy is expected to be performed sometime later today, police said.

At this time, there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding this death, and there is no information to suggest any threat to the public, police said in a press release sent this afternoon.

The name of the deceased male is being withheld pending confirmation of identification, and notification of next of kin.

The case remains under investigation at this time.
