Berwick Police reportedly dealing with Long Swamp Road standoff

BERWICK - Police are currently on the scene of what has been described as a standoff situation in Berwick.

The activity is on Long Swamp Road, with a portion of the road between Haley Drive and Johnny Lane shut down around 5 a.m.

The incident is connected to a shooting at Trackside Tacos of Somersworth, police say.

A report of a person barricading themselves in a structure was first noted on Northeast Fire Alerts around 1 a.m. earlier today.

A Berwick safety official confirmed lawmen were still at the scene.

The public is asked to avoid the area until the situation is resolved.
