TILTON - A Belmont woman was arrested Sunday on felony reckless conduct charges for driving the wrong was on Interstate 93 for an extended period of time.
State Police got involved around 4:20 a.m. after State Police dispatch began receiving reports of a vehicle traveling south in the northbound lanes on Interstate 93. Initial callers reported the vehicle in the town of Ashland, and multiple other callers provided troopers with location updates as the vehicle continued traveling south. The callers all reported that a small sedan was traveling the wrong way, in the left travel lane, according to a statement sent out Sunday by the Dept. of Safety..
Eventually an officer from the Tilton Police Department was able to locate and stop the vehicle in the left lane, near Exit 20. Troopers arrived on scene a short time later and took over the investigation.
After a roadside investigation had been completed Elisha D. Moore, 29, of Belmon, was arrested and charged with Reckless Conduct. She was transported to the Tilton Police Department, where she was bailed and released on her own Personal Recognizance pending her arraignment at Belknap County Superior Court at a later date.
