ROCHESTER - Barbara L. Taylor, 97, DIED after a long and full life on March 30, 2023, after a brief illness.

Barbara was born on Jan. 13, 1926, in Rochester. After graduating from Spaulding High School in 1944 she attended McIntosh College and graduated as a legal secretary.

In 1947, she married Herbert E. Taylor, and they went on to have four children. Barbara and Herb were married for 61 years.

In 1971, Barbara went to work as Secretary to the Principal of Allen Street School, in Rochester, where she stayed for over 20 years. She loved this job and was very beloved by students, teachers, and co-workers. She was an avid golfer, a longtime member of the United Methodist Church in Rochester, and enjoyed traveling all over the country to visit her children and grandchildren. She was an animal lover and volunteered at the Cocheco Valley Humane Society and FuRRR Feline Rescue.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Mildred Hunt, her husband, Herbert Taylor, and her sister, Elaine Adams. She is survived by her four children, Rebecca Cottrell, Mark Taylor, Nancy Lamoureux, Lynne Duggan, her sister-in law, Betty Pensavalle, seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
