Autopsy: Man found dead inside burning home died of natural causes

MEREDITH - A 54-year-old Meredith man who was found dead amid a blaze at his residence on Monday died of natural causes, according to the Medical Examiner's Office, however safety officials noted on Tuesday that at this time there are no criminal indicators associated with the fire.

Fire crews responded around 4 p.m. on Monday to 203 Pease Road after receiving reports that there were two people trapped inside the home. When the first units arrived, they found significant fire and smoke coming from the second story of a single-family home. according to a Dept. of Safety release sent out on Monday.

Once firefighters made entry and extinguishing efforts were under way, they located a deceased individual, who was later identiried as Timothy Huckins. Two other residents were in the home at the time of the fire and were able to evacuate safely, fire officials said.

The investigation into the origin and cause of the fire is active and ongoing by members of the State Fire Marshal's Office and the Meredith Fire and Police Departments.
