Memorial Day events are planned for today and Monday as the Greater Rochester area pays tribute to armed services members who made the supreme sacrifice in defense of our country.
Rochester's Memorial Day parade begins at 10 a.m. at the Holy Rosary Church on South Main Street. It will pause at the bridge for a brief dedication to honor Navy men and women lost at sea before heading to the Rochester Common for the full ceremony to include speakers, laying of the wreaths and taps.
Milton's parade this year will be in Milton Mills, where it will begin at 10 a.m. outside the MFPL. It will head down Main Street past the Post Office to the bridge that connects Acton, Maine, where it will stop to honor fallen sailors before proceeding to the Milton Mills Cemetery for another dedication.
In Farmington, the parade is set for today at 1 p.m. It begins at the Civil War Memorial in Pine Grove Cemetery at 1 p.m. and ends at the Old Town Hall.
In Lebanon, Maine, a ceremony will be held on Monday at noon at the Town Hall on Upper Guinea Road with a ceremony featuring a gun salute.
