ROCHESTER - The City of Rochester will be flushing fire hydrants from Sept. 26 through the end of October with the bulk of flushing taking place between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.
As a result of flushing, some slight discoloration may be noticed in affected tap water. If discoloration occurs it may clear up if cold water taps are run for several minutes. Customers may also experience low water pressure while flushing is in progress and are urged to check their water pressure before bathing or doing laundry.
If residents have any questions or concerns, or if discoloration will not clear, please contact the Rochester Public Works Department during regular business hours, Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., at 332-4096.
