SPRINGVALE, Maine - Anne M Bowen, formerly of Rochester, N.H.,died on Oct. 15, 2024, at The Lodges Care Center in Springvale.
Anne was born on April 14, 1936, in Malden, Mass., to Robert F and Ethrilla (Eveleth) Bonamo. She was raised in Barrington, N.H., and the San Diego area of California.
Anne was employed at Jerry's Shop and Save, and The Globe Department Store in Rochester, in the office and as manager of the snack bar. At the age of 50 she earned her GED from The Rochester School Department and went on to also earn her CNA license through Rochester Manor's CNA Course. She worked at Riverside Rest Home until her retirement.
Anne was married to Robert (Bob) Bowen, until his death in 2006, less than 1 month shy of their Golden Wedding Anniversary. A gifted crafter, she was well known for her homemade dolls and other crafts. She was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society, taking part in The Annual Relay for Life in Rochester and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Events at UNH in Durham. She was a dedicated bingo player at The Knights of Columbus, Mondays in Rochester until the Bingo was canceled due to Covid.
Anne is survived by her daughter ,Roberta Knight of Rochester, her son Robert W Bowen and his wife Cindy of Barrington, N.H. She was Ma Bowen and Gram to her grandchildren, Gary Knight and his wife Stacie of Rochester, Andrew Knight of Strafford, N.H., Lucas and Nicholas Bowen of Portland, Lily Bowen of Barrington and Reggie Kelly of Virginia as well as her great -grandchildren, Kaylee Tibbetts (Matt), Hayden Knight, Alex Knight, Amber Knight, and Alex Bowen. She was great -great-grandmother to Vivienne Lowe and Nevaeh and Parker Tibbetts.
She was also pre-deceased by her parents, and her Brother, Peter Dube.
Our family would like to express our Heartfelt thanks to the staff and administration of The Lodges for the loving care they gave to Anne while she was a resident there.
