ROCHESTER - Ann L. Gerrish died peacefully on Friday, Sept. 27, 2024, at Carriage Hill Assisted Living after a period of failing health.
Ann was born Aug. 22, 1941, at her family home in East Rochester. She was the daughter of Noah "Albert" Warburton and Mabel Warburton (Caswell).
Ann worked for many years as a store clerk, most notably working at Boucher's Corner Store in East Rochester and Roseann's clothing shop in downtown Rochester. She also was a cook at Lebanon Elementary School and met her husband of 63 years at Minor's Diary Bar while working there too. Ann was an avid crafter who loved to make handmade rugs. She sewed quilts and made many articles of clothing, for her whole family. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting as well. Ann always had a project nearby. She also had a passion for flower gardening, gladiolus and carnations were her favorite flowers.
Ann is survived by her three children, Terri Gerrish and her significant other, Larry Hersom, of Rochester; Jay Gerrish and his wife Pamela, of South Portland, Maine; Thomas Gerrish and his wife Jessica, of Honolulu, Hawaii, and her sister Mary Jane Ward, of Rochester. Ann is also survived through her 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Ann was predeceased by her husband, Philip Gerrish, who passed in March of 2024.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the Gerrish family.
