Almost 800 area households still without power after windy night in region

Nearly 800 Greater Rochester area households remain in the dark this afternoon, including 351 from Barrington after strong winds more than 50 mph whipped through the region early today.

Winds in the 20s are still hitting the Northern Seacoast, which is under a wind advisory till 7 tonight.

Other local communities still have hundreds of customers without power, including 265 in Dover, 221 in Milton, 40 in Rochester, 24 in Somersworth and 17 in Farmington.

Meanwhile in Maine, 589 households are without power in Lebanon, 288 in Berwick, 458 in North Berwick and 128 in Alton.

As of 1:30 p.m. winds were out of the west northwest at 22 mph with gusts still strong at 43 mph.

By later in the night winds are expected to subside to around 10 mph.

Tomorrow will continue breezy with a high in the mid-30s.
