ALFRED, Maine - An Alfred man was arrested on murder charges on Tuesday after his wife's body was found inside their home on Monday following a disturbance call to the York County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded around 3 p.m., to 81 Waterboro Road where they located a deceased woman inside the residence believed to be 39-year-old Kristan Crow who lived there with her husband, 40-year-old James Crow. Sheriff's Deputies and State Troopers attempted to make contact with James Crow, who was not home at the time of the Deputies arrival. He was found in the parking lot of Harry's gas station on Route 111 in Lyman where he surrendered without incident.
Detectives worked throughout the night processing the home at 81 Waterboro Road, while the body of the deceased was transported to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta. An autopsy was performed on Tuesday. The coroner report confirmed the identity of the deceased as 39-year-old Kristan Crow and ruled her death a homicide.
James Crow was charged with murder and will make his initial appearance in York County Superior Court today at 1:30 p.m. via Zoom.
